Physics Members win Science Rendezvous Volunteer Award

Congratulations to Ricky Chu and Malcolm Pidsosny for being named 2023 Science Rendezvous Outstanding Volunteers!

Ricky Chu is a Teaching Technician who is part of the Physics ORSEC (Outreach, Recruitment and Student Experience Committee) and has been actively involved in STEAM outreach initiatives. 

Malcolm Pidsosny was an undergraduate student at SFU Physics and a volunteer with our outreach program.  After graduation, he continues to work at the Trottier Observatory and plans to keep studying astrophysics at grad school.  

They were both recognized for their work with Science Rendezvous, an annual free family festival dedicated to bringing research and STEM experiences to the public.  It is the largest single-day science festival in Canada.
