Shaping SFU’s academic direction
We are working to create a new Academic Plan for 2025-2030 and invite faculty and staff to read Draft 2 to familiarize themselves with the Plan and its six focus areas and potential goals.
Aligned with the priorities and values outlined in What’s Next: the SFU Strategy, the Academic Plan affirms the university’s commitment to the academic mission. This fall, guided by the focus areas in the new institutional Academic Plan, faculties and units will build their own five-year plans outlining what they plan to achieve. Units will be building plans for a challenging enrolment and financial period and will continue to work toward finding efficiencies.
“We want to ensure a collaborative planning process to achieve our collective goals and sustainable operations throughout the university. I encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the process and connect with their faculty or unit planning teams this fall,” said Provost and VP Academic and Chief Budget Officer, Dilson Etcheverry Rassier.
All students, staff and faculty are encouraged to contribute to the development of their faculty/unit plan and are welcome to ask their faculty/unit how they can get involved.
