SFU Board of Governors Chair, Deputy Chair Re-appointed
This message is sent on behalf of Margarita Fullerton, University Secretary, to all faculty and staff at Simon Fraser University.
I am pleased to announce that the SFU Board of Governors has re-appointed Angie Lamarsh as Board Chair and Paula Martin as Board Deputy Chair. The Board plays an important role in the governance of SFU as they oversee the administration of the university, including finances, property and policies.
Angie Lamarsh joined the Board in July 2018 and was first appointed Board Chair in February 2022. She will continue serving in this capacity until her term as Board member ends on July 31, 2024. The Board will begin the process to nominate and appoint a new Board Chair before the end of Lamarsh’s term.
Paula Martin joined the Board in January 2020 and was elected Deputy Chair in February 2022. She will continue serving in her role as Deputy Chair until the conclusion of the January 2025 Board meeting. Martin’s term as Board member will continue until January 2026.
The Board Chair and Deputy Chair election process was conducted in alignment to Policy B10.01 Rules of the Board of Governors, and guided by the associated Process to Collect and Confirm Nominees and Manage Election by Secret Ballot. The terms for the Board Chair and Board Deputy Chair are also outlined in Policy B10.01.

Please join me in congratulating Angie Lamarsh and Paula Martin on their reappointments.
