APSA
Update on Basic Agreement Negotiations with APSA
April 22, 2024
The university and APSA are currently re-negotiating the Basic Agreement, the foundational document that governs the relationship between the two parties.
As noted in the February 6 update, APSA and SFU agreed to take part in non-binding mediation. The university met with APSA leadership with the support of a mediator from April 15-17, 2024.
Unfortunately, the parties were unable to reach agreement through mediated negotiations. As a next step, the mediator has proposed that the university and APSA each share their final positions for consideration.
The mediator will then make non-binding recommendations for the university and APSA to consider. The recommendations are expected in approximately three to four weeks.
