Is this task force interested only in student plagiarism or student cheating?

Our concerns are not restricted to students' behaviour. We are interested in hearing from anyone who has identified problems that affect the culture of academic integrity at SFU and anyone who has suggestions for change or examples of best practices.

How big of a problem is academic dishonesty at this institution?

This is a question being addressed by more than a dozen universities across Canada. Like SFU, these insititutions are conducting integrity surveys that will be completed either this spring or next fall. When the results from other Canadian universities are in, we will have data to indicate how SFU compares with other Canadian institutions. Research from the US and elsewhere suggests that academic dishonesty is a problem for universities across North America and beyond.
