Aspen Anderson
Earth Sciences doctoral student in the Faculty of Science
I am originally from Colorado and am currently living in Squamish. I am happy to be living in such a beautiful place and have a wonderful community of people in the Earth Sciences department at SFU.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?
I came to SFU to study with my advisor, Dr. Diana Allen.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?
I study the formation of groundwater resources in coastal deltas (i.e. Vancouver, Squamish).
WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?
I enjoy getting to study a resource that is so important to everyone, water!
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
The Michael Stevenson Graduate Scholarship has enabled me to finish my program without worrying about finding additional funding. I am extremely grateful for that privilege!
