Tell us a little about yourself, including what inspires you to learn and continue in your chosen field
I grew up in a bilingual family, and I am fascinated by the interaction of French / Indigenous languages and English.
Why did you choose to come to SFU?
The faculty and staff were communicative and collaborative even before admission, and their work closely aligns with my research interests.
How would you describe your research or your program to a family member?
Linguistics is about studying how language is created physically and how language is perceived mentally.

Bilingualism, Identity, Language Policy
How have your courses, RA-ships, TA-ships, or non-academic school experiences contributed to your academic and/or professional development?
Participating in 3MT has helped me bridge my academic research with practical applications, emphasizing its significance and connection to real-world issues.
How do you approach networking and building connections in and outside of your academic community?
Working part-time, volunteering, and participating in university-wide activities have allowed me to build lasting connections with peers and professionals.
