"I believe the people that we surround ourselves with can really determine our happiness and success. With that mindset, I chose SFU because I think SFU community possesses a culture and vision that attracts ambitious yet kind individuals who I want to surround myself with."
Stacia Gani
Business Administration master's student in the Beedie School of Business
I was born and raised in Indonesia, but my passion in business, marketing, technology, and learning in general has allowed me to study and work in many different places. I took my undergraduate degree in Business Information System in Corvallis (Oregon, USA), and I have worked in Corvallis (Oregon), Portland (Oregon), Honolulu (Hawaii), Jakarta (Indonesia). Currently, I am enjoying my new journey here in Vancouver (Canada) as SFU's MBA Full-Time student who is soon to graduate by the end of Aug 2022!
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?
I believe the people that we surround ourselves with can really determine our happiness and success. With that mindset, I chose SFU because I think SFU community possesses a culture and vision that attracts ambitious yet kind individuals who I want to surround myself with.

WHAT ARE YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYING ABOUT YOUR STUDIES/RESEARCH AT SFU?
I am particularly enjoying the connections that I have made with my cohort and other people in SFU community. Every day I learn new insights from the class discussions and conversations with my classmates.
HAVE YOU BEEN THE RECIPIENT OF ANY MAJOR OR DONOR-FUNDED AWARDS? IF SO, PLEASE TELL US WHICH ONES AND A LITTLE ABOUT HOW THE AWARDS HAVE IMPACTED YOUR STUDIES AND/OR RESEARCH.
I am the recipient of the John Ellis Graduate Scholarship and I am very grateful for it. If not because of the scholarship, I might not even join the MBA program to begin with and I would be missing all these wonderful connections and opportunities to do more than I did before.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PROGRAM/POSTDOC POSITION TO SOMEONE STILL SEARCHING FOR A PROGRAM OR POSTDOC POSITION?
This full-time MBA program is a safe space where you can explore and learn how to be a better version of yourself. It is a place where you can build meaningful connections with very intelligent and interesting individuals.
