Several issues came to light during the creation of this project. Here are some persistent problems encountered during the project:

LACK OF UP-TO-DATE DATA

The data used for this project was largely from 2001; though some data was from as long ago as 1996. The soils map was also quite old, being from 1999. The problem was not that data was not available per se, but that it was not free. This being a student project limited the access to resources which cost money. Perhaps this issue could more easily be subdued where funding is available.

Not having up-to-date data could cause a problem during analysis because the results may not reflect how the world is currently. In the case of this project, land use zones may have changed since 2001, and soil composition may have shifted since 1999. Both these factors together combine to create data that may not be useful if the original data has changed.

LACK OF DATA

Much like the latter issue, this issue stems from the inability to access data which costs money. This limited the factors used in the MCE; as no lot size data could be located to show where large enough lots were found in the Lower Mainland.

TIME

Because this was the second attempt and the second round of research due to issues with acquiring data on another topic, a time constraint limited what could be done with the project. More time would have surely improved the outcome of this project (though it isn't bad).

FURTHER ANALYSIS

As mentioned above, there was a time constraint limiting what could be done with this project. Had there been more time, more in depth analysis of soil types could have been performed. A weighted MCE of different soil suitabilities would have aided in the accuracy of the outcome, by showing where more suitable and less suitable soils are located. Unfortunately this project combines all soils of acceptable suitability together.
