Conclusion

Although errors are inevitable, using a MCE approach for this spatial analysis has proven to be very insightful. Various locations throughout southern B.C. have been identified as suitable locations for the development of a ski resort that meets the assigned criteria. Land that is considered suitable is based on criteria; changing criteria or manipulating existing criteria will produce different results in the analysis.

The criterion for this project was limited by the data available. More comprehensive and accurate data collection would be critical for a formal spatial analysis to be performed; this would form the foundation of an actual proposal for the development of a ski resort.

There are multiple aspects of the project that I would change or have done differently if given the chance to repeat the analysis. Nevertheless, the project provided an excellent means to demonstrate new skills acquired through the class and ultimately produce a unique spatial analysis.
