SPATIAL ANALYSIS ON THE BEST LOCATION FOR A NEW RETIREMENT HOME IN THE GVRD

The MCE analysis carried out in the Decision Wizard produced a map showing areas of varying suitability

This map was then changed so that it is easier to read. It was given a more meaningful legend and an clearer custom color palette. Then, the most suitable areas for a new retirement home were circled in yellow. From these images we can see that the most suitable locations are in Port Moody, Maple Ridge, Surrey, North Vancouver, Vancouver, and the Burnaby/New Westminister area. The strongest suitability on the map is in Port Moody, at the tip of Burrard Inlet. This location fufills every single one of the requirements (it does not currently have a retirement home, eagle ridge hospital is located there, plenty of parks and greenspace, a local public library, a large senior demographic, etc.)
