In order to sucessfully determine location suitability for a Doggy Cafe in Vancouver City, the apprOpriate data would have to be located. By using the Constraints and Factors identified by the intial research, the data needed to preform the suitability queries could be located.

After the data was identified and located, measures needed to be taken to prepare the data, so that it could be brought into IDRISI and used to conduct a Multi Criteria Evaluation.

The Following procedures were conducted within ArcMap:

A query was conducted on the gvrd_2001_landuse file to extract only the landuse codes for Vancouver City. The selected features were then extracted and a new layer was created. This layer was converted into Raster folmat as described below.

All data obtained from the Simon Fraser University SIS Lab was in a Vector File Format. Each data layer was brought into ArcMap and converted into a Raster format using the Conversion tool "To Raster - Feature to Raster" and "From Raster - Feature to ASCII". All data was converted using a 43 meter resolution.

At this point, the data was then brought into IDRISI and Raster Layers were created.
