Hossein Shahbazi has succesfully defended his PhD thesis on adjoint inverse modelling for improving emission inputs of an air quality dispersion model. Congurtulations Dr. Shahbazi!
Dr. Hosseini's intro in the SEE newsletter
Vahid Hosseini joined SEE in August 2021 as an Associate Professor. With expertise in studying urban sustainable mobility options, he uses integrated experimental and modelling tools to analyze the dispersion of criteria air contaminants, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy consumption of transportation modes and technologies in cities.
“I look forward to working with SEE undergraduate and graduate students to put SEE on the map as a major player of research, innovation, and expertise to achieve sustainable goals in the transportation sector while collaborating with SFU faculties in economics, social sciences, environmental justice, and more. I expect that the contribution will also improve the relationship with Indigenous peoples, recognizing rights, respect, cooperation and partnership in the transportation sector and will promote EDI principles in higher education and research.”
Dr. Hosseini will serve as the keynote speaker and guest speaker in the following events:
- Keynote speaker in the CSME2022 conference in Edmonton, Alberta, on June 5-8, 2022.
- Guest speaker for the Emission Research Measurement Section (ERMS) at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), virtual presentation, March 11, 2022
- Guest speaker, Palliser Airshed in Alberta, virtual presentation, June 1, 2022
