In Memoriam: Ehor Boyanowsky, retired professor

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ehor Orest Boyanowsky, a retired professor of Simon Fraser University’s School of Criminology. He passed away on August 20th, 2024 after a brief illness.

Professor Boyanowsky retired in 2016 and was one of the original faculty members hired when the School opened in 1975. He was a criminal psychologist and author known for his research and lectures on violence and aggression, as well as for his dedication to researching crimes against the environment.

In addition to his academic work, he served as president of SFU’s Faculty Association. He was also the founding president of the Canadian Constitution Foundation. Additionally, he held positions as a member of the BC Treaty Negotiation Advisory Committee and as president of the Confederation of Faculty Associations of B.C.

We extend our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to professor Boyanowsky's family and friends during this difficult time.
