If you've lost your password or simply want to change it:

1. Go to https://canvas.sfu.ca/login/canvas
2. Click Forgot Password?
   
   
3. Enter your email
4. Click Request Password
   
   
5. Click the email
   
6. Click Click here to set a new password
   
   
7. Enter a new password
8. Confirm the new password
9. Click Update Password
   
   

Regular SFU users should continue to use the Change your password or Forgot your password links presented on the SFU CAS login page.

Within a week of the course start date, you can access your course and view the Getting Started material.  

On the course start date, you will receive full access to your course materials. 

Your Canvas user name will be the email address you provided when you registered for the course.

You’ll receive an email asking you to choose a password for your new Canvas account.

Here's how to set your password and register for Canvas:

1. Open the Canvas "finish registration" email in your mailbox. Be sure to check your junk mail if you don’t see it in your inbox.

2. Click the link provided in the email. 
   

3. Enter your password. You will need to save this so you can log in to Canvas later. 
   
4. Click beside I agree to the Acceptable Use Policy
5. Click Register
   

You will now be able to log in to Canvas and see your course on the Canvas dashboard. Please note your full name will display during online discussions.

To change your display name, click Settings on the top right-hand side and choose Edit Settings to access your personal settings.

If you have an active SFU email address, you will need to use it to access your Canvas course. Log in to Canvas through the CAS login page using your SFU Computing ID/email address and password:

We recommend you clear your browser’s cache first (or use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox). Then open a private/incognito window before you log back in to Canvas.

You can access your previously completed courses in Canvas by clicking “Courses” in the left sidebar and selecting “All Courses” near the bottom of the flyout menu. You will be presented with a page of current courses, followed by a list of your past courses under the section “Past Enrollments.”
