
Heather Young
Heather Young is a communications leader with over two decades of experience helping public, private, non-profit, and academic organizations strengthen their reputations and amplify their impact.
She has held senior leadership roles across diverse sectors, including as Vice President of Communications and Public Relations at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Director of Communications at Mitacs, Manager of Public Affairs at WorkSafeBC, and Manager of Communications at Special Olympics BC.
Her teams’ work have been recognized with multiple awards from IABC, CPRS, and PR News. She was named one of Ragan’s Top Women in Communications (2024) and was a finalist for Charity Village’s Most Outstanding Impact Award (2021).
Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser University, and an MBA from Royal Roads University.
