Brook Thorndycraft
Brook Thorndycraft, MA, B.Ed, Acc.FM, Q.Med, works in Halifax as a leadership coach and organizational consultant in private practice, particularly in the areas of conflict, organizational change and relational leadership.
Brook coaches leaders who want to deepen their capacity for the “soft skills” of leadership, such as: developing their own emotional intelligence, motivating and engaging employees to be their best, navigating conflict or upheaval, creating healthy cultures of feedback, stewarding an organization through change, becoming aware of their own use of power, championing equity and inclusion, and ensuring psychological health and safety in the workplace.
Brook has an MA in adult education and community development and 20 years’ experience in leadership development, conflict intervention, transformative coaching and organizational systems change.
As a conflict management coach, she encourages people to understand conflict as an opportunity for change and growth, and supports them to develop their emotional fluidity and capacity to manage conflict in their workplace and personal relationships.
In her consulting practice, she also offers workplace restoration, a comprehensive approach to restoring good workplace relationships after a major conflict, investigation or other workplace trauma. She is a certified Workplace Fairness Analyst.
Brook uses a combination of cognitive, embodied and creative approaches rooted in systems theory, mindfulness and somatic experiencing to identify and address limiting beliefs and patterns, and to support clients in recognizing and building on their own inner leadership capacities.
