Steve Lane

Steve Lane, PhD, is a retired English professor and academic administrator whose research falls into two main areas: the English Romantic poets, and the American writer Ernest Hemingway. As a faculty member at Vancouver Island University (VIU), Steve taught numerous survey courses (British and American literature) and delivered upper-level courses in both his areas of research.

Specific to his course on Hemingway, he has presented papers at all of the International Hemingway Conferences since 1992 (save one in 2008), the most recent being 2022 in Sheridan, Wyoming. Since retiring in 2019, Steve has kept busy with a number of courses for the VIU ElderCollege.
