Julian Griggs
Julian Griggs is one of the founding principals of the Dovetail Consulting Group, which specializes in collaborative approaches to environmental planning, resource management and community development. With more than three decades of work experience in Canada, the U.S. and Southern Africa, and graduate training in both natural and social sciences, Julian brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his work as a trainer, facilitator, planner and strategic advisor.
His recent projects have included: a review of government-to-government shared decision-making agreements on behalf of SFU’s Centre for Dialogue; working with several coalitions of First Nations and conservation organizations; strategic planning for various non-profit organizations; brokering a national dialogue between senior industry and environmental representatives on energy and climate issues; and several research projects examining multi-party collaborative initiatives. Julian has secured international accreditation as a Certified Professional Facilitator (Master)© from the International Association of Facilitators and is an associate with SFU’s Centre for Dialogue.
Julian lives in Vancouver with his wife Eva and three daughters and enjoys time on foot, in a kayak or on two wheels, especially in the wildness of oceans, deserts and mountains.
