Peter Carver

Peter Carver was a professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. He taught courses in Canadian constitutional, administrative and immigration law. From 2010 to 2014 Peter served as the chairperson of the Centre for Constitutional Studies at the University of Alberta, and after 2014 was editor in chief of the Centre’s journal, the Review of Constitutional Studies. His research interests included equality rights, disability rights, Senate reform and Canadian legal history. Prior to his academic career, Peter practiced law in B.C. and served on the federal Immigration and Refugee Board. Since retiring, Peter spends his time reading fiction and historical non-fiction, following political events, and watching baseball.
