Derek Bains has a bachelor's degree in human kinetics and a master's degree in occupational therapy. He is an experienced occupational therapist specializing in the field of vocational rehabilitation and disability management. With a background in kinesiology and occupational therapy, Derek brings invaluable expertise in facilitating individuals' transitions back into the workforce after injury, illness or disability. With a focus on enhancing functional outcomes, Derek supports clients with diverse physical, cognitive or mental health conditions. He is currently an occupational therapist clinical advisor at WorkSafeBC.

Derek has extensive experience in private practice, including case management, assessments, therapeutic treatment and developing comprehensive return-to-work plans, both in Canada and in the U.K. Derek is a registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.

Derek is dedicated to empowering individuals with the skills and resources needed for successful workplace reintegration. He is committed to advancing the field of vocational rehabilitation through education, research and hands-on expertise.
