Darby Barnes
Darby Barnes is a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Profession (CVRP), Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Certified Psychological Safety Advisor. She has dedicated her career for the past 15 years to helping folks at the intersection of wellbeing and work. She particularly focuses on “helping people who help people,” with a large portion of her career spent supporting care providers in the health and education sectors.
Darby holds a BSc in psychology from Dalhousie University and an MA degree in disability management from the University of Northern British Columbia. Darby’s passion for her work is evident in her compassionate yet pragmatic and tactical approach, and her ability to draw a connection between individual experience and the larger systemic and cultural factors. Darby connects deeply with serving her community through her role as president of the board of directors for the Canadian Mental Health Association – Mid-Island Branch.
