SFU Continuing Studies looks back on 50 years of flexible learning
It was 50 years ago today that SFU opened the doors to its new Division of Continuing Education.
On July 5, 1971, we offered our first classes, designed to help schoolteachers complete their degrees over the summer. Much has changed over five decades, but at SFU Continuing Studies, we’re proud to have remained true to our original mandate: to expand university access to learners beyond the traditional student.
