Staff achievement award presented to Atsuko Takenaka
Each year, Lifelong Learning honours one staff member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and contribution to the unit. We’re delighted to congratulate Atsuko Takenaka, the recipient of the 2019 Margaret Brown Lifelong Learning Staff Achievement Award.
Atsuko serves as a program assistant in the English Language and Culture Program and has been described by her colleagues as “creative, innovative, capable, diligent, supportive, helpful and an absolute joy to work with.” Dean Julia Denholm presented her with the award today during a staff celebration.
The award was established in 2010 by former director of interdisciplinary programs, Yosef Wosk, in honour of his long-time assistant Margaret Brown, who served SFU for 22 years.
