At the Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology (BPK), one of our most important initiatives is to stay connected with our alumni. If you would like to be more involved with the department, we have provided several opportunities for our 4,000+ alumni, which you can see below. To refresh your memory on BPK, you may read our brief history here.
If you want to connect with BPK, please contact bpkalum@sfu.ca with your comments and feedback and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
NOTES OF APPRECIATION
Many past SFU graduates who deserved to be recognized and appreciated, received some note of appreciation for them through the SFU Alumni Appreciation Project. BPK was fortunate to have our former alumni appreciated and their stories can be found here.
If you would like to stay connected with the SFU and BPK community after graduation, visit the SFU Alumni Association.
BECOME AN EMPLOYER
BPK encourages students to discover and realize their academic, professional and personal goals. Established in 1977/78, our Co-operative Program has grown to consistently support approximately 130 co-op work term placements per year in a wide range of employment areas and geographical location. If you would like to help students obtain work experience before their graduation, you may be interested in taking a BPK Co-op/practicum student for a short-term position at your company, organization or institution. For more information, please visit the BPK Co-op page or contact Darleen Bemister, BPK Co-op Coordinator, at bemister@sfu.ca.
These opportunities offer you the chance to network with other alumni and students, meet your professional and personal goals, and contribute to BPK students’ development and positive experiences.
DONATE AND SUPPORT BPK
Our department is known for its outstanding and scientifically rigorous curriculum; we have one of the most popular and highly-sought undergraduate programs in the University and one of the strongest programs of its kind in Canada. Our faculty lead well-funded, cutting-edge research across a wide range of biomedical disciplines, and our researchers and graduate students conduct projects not only in well-equipped, state of the art laboratories but also in community centres and nursing homes, hospitals, and communities across the lower mainland and beyond, where they produce information and devices that affect, or have the potential to affect, the lives of people throughout the world.
BPK would be delighted to have our alumni contribute to some of our programs. You can find more information or make an online contribution to BPK here.
