Sessional: BPK 407 Human Physiology Laboratory

Position: Sessional Instructor

Salary: $9,534-$13,166 depending on enrollment (inclusive of 4% vacation pay)

Appointment period: May 7 - August 26

Labs: 2-3, depending on enrollment 4 hours each

  • Thursdays, 1:30-5:20pm
  • Fridays: 8:30am-12:20pm; 1:30-5:20pm        

Course Description: Experiments dealing with the nervous, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, and renal systems are covered. Prerequisite: BPK 304W305 and 306. Quantitative.

Qualifications: A related graduate degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology or a related discipline together with evidence of teaching ability commensurate with the responsibility of teaching the assigned credit course and of carrying out the duties related to the effective conduct of that course. 

Additional Qualifications:

For BPK 407, applicants must have the following:

  • Demonstrated expertise in human physiology sufficient to instruct fourth-year students.
  • Proficiency in using all human physiology monitoring equipment utilized in BPK 407 (e.g Burdick ECG, Spirolab II, gas analyzers).
  • Extensive experience with all of the iWorx hardware and software utilized in BPK 407.
  • Experience conducting laboratory exams.
  • Significant prior experience supervising BPK 407 labs so that you can instruct and set up all of the equipment required for each lab.
