Audience: Directors of Instruction, District Principals, Principals and Vice-Principals of French Immersion programs from K-12 - all activities will be conducted in English
Cost: Free for all administrators of French Immersion schools/districts
*Travel bursaries are available for administrators outside of the Lower Mainland so make sure to click on the correct ticket type.
Included in your registration: Access to the keynote presentation, workshops, breakfast, drinks and snacks during the health break, lunch and a glass of wine and appetizers during the wine and cheese reception at the end of the day.
Registration deadline: January 21, 2024, 23: 59 p.m.

The conference will be held at the Civic Hotel, Autograph Collection located at 13475 Central Ave, Surrey, B.C., V3T 0L8.

Parking

Parking is accessible from 104th Avenue, University Drive or City Parkway.
Hotel guests park in the CIVIC Hotel parking spaces on P3 (spaces 788 to 834). Event attendees park at P1 and pay at the cash desks located at the Civic Hotel elevator entrances.
Please note that P2 and P3 are strictly reserved for permit holders during Surrey City Hall opening hours - please do not park in RESERVED spaces. Underground parking is monitored and controlled by the City of Surrey.

Public transportation

The Civic Hotel is 150 meters from Surrey Central Skytrain station. Public transport timetables are available at www.translink.ca.

Bursaries

The SFU's Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs offers travel grants for administrators travelling from outside the Greater Vancouver area. For Vancouver Island/ coast residents, you will receive a bursary of $425 (for one night) or $650 (for two nights). For BC regions residents, you will receive a bursary of $825 (for one night) or $1050 (for two nights). This bursary is to cover your transportation costs (airfare, ferries) and accommodation (you'll also receive a promotional code for the Civic Hotel. You will be responsible for hotel booking).

Reimbursement schedule: please allow 4 to 8 weeks after the event before receiving your bursary. Payment will be made by cheque. The cheque will be sent to the address indicated on the registration form. Please keep your expenses receipt (airline boarding passes, hotel bills, ferry tickets) as it might be asked by SFU Finances. Please note that French Teacher bursaries from the Ministry of Education are not available for this event.
