Donjek Range, Yukon, May 2016
We spent the first few weeks of May 2016 measuring snow depth and density across three different glaciers in the Donjek Range of the St. Elias Mountains. Statistical analyses of these measurements will help us characterize the spatial variability of seasonal snow accumulation at scales from metres to tens of kilometres, an important input to glacier mass-balance models. The data will support the Master's thesis research of Alex Pulwicki. Alex and Gwenn were joined in the field by visiting scholar Coline Ariagno and glaciologist Alison Criscitiello.
