Miller Lake, Coast Mountains, British Columbia, June 2016
In June 2016 we conducted a pilot project at Miller Lake near Pemberton, British Columbia, to characterize the physical properties and morphology of an alpine lake in a glaciered basin. UW-Tacoma collaborator Dan Shugar and student Yon Henderson deployed their multibeam sonar system to map lake bathymetry and a camera-equipped drone to create a SfM DEM of the surrounding terrain. Gwenn, along with SFU undergraduate student Alex Milburn, did CTD (conductivity, temperature, depth) casts from packrafts, while Dan and Yon remotely operated the Z-boat from their lake-side outdoor office. There were many, many bugs.
