Health faculty launches
As construction began for its new $41.5-million home on the Burnaby campus, SFU’s fledgling faculty of health sciences hired 10 faculty members and welcomed its first students. Sixty-eight applicants competed for 19 spots in the master’s-level population and public health program, which prepares established health professionals and recent university graduates for leadership roles in health research and professions. The faculty aims to find solutions that lead to sustainable health policies. In 2006, SFU will launch a master of science in global health program.
