Neutralizing disasters
SFU’s new centre for natural hazard research will study the geophysical forces and processes that threaten the people and economic infrastructure of British Columbia. Sixteen SFU researchers, including acclaimed earth sciences professor John Clague, will combine efforts with experts from other leading national and international organizations to lessen the toll of devastating natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods and landslides.
