Intern opportunity in Greece allows students to experience the world of philanthropy firsthand
Looking for work experience that will allow you to practically apply your degree? The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies is now accepting applications for a fall internship with one of the world's leading, private international philanthropic organizations, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The SNF issues grants to organizations and projects in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and sports, and social welfare, that aim to achieve a broad, lasting, and positive impact for society at large, and exhibit strong leadership and sound management. Since 1996, the Foundation has committed more than $3.1 billion through over 4,900 grants to nonprofit organizations, in more than 130 countries around the world.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as an acting program officer in Athens, Greece, assisting with the evaluation and research of grant proposals from around the world. Not only will the intern gain hands-on experience working with nonprofit organizations, they will also be exposed to the cultural richness of living and working in the historic city of Athens.
This year's fall internship will run from September 13, 2021 - December 3, 2021, subject to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Interns are provided with a modest stipend, however, all accommodation, travel, and other living expenses are the sole responsiblility of the intern.
