Congratulations to Juliette Halliday, who placed third in the CAC Junior Essay Competition
BIG congratulations to Juliette Halliday, who won third place in the Classical Association of Canada Junior Essay Competition for her paper: “Minoan Palatial Interaction: Power or Peers?” which she wrote in our very own Dr. Sabrina Higgins' HS 312: Greek Art and Archaeology during 2018’s fall semester.
The Classical Association of Canada has for over 70 years worked to advance the study of the civilizations of the Greek and Roman world, their later influence, and their creative presence in modern culture. Amongst its many activities, the Association also offers a number of scholarships and competitions. The Undergraduate Essay Contest is designed to showcase, and reward exceptional research done by undergraduate students taking Classics courses at Canadian universities. Two separate competitions are held each year: a Junior contest for papers written by undergraduates in survey courses where no specialized knowledge of Greek or Latin is required and a Senior contest for papers written by undergraduates in specialized upper-level courses in Classics.
Congratulations to all the winners – well done Juliette!
