Sessional - BISC 651 - TOXICITY TESTS I: ECOLOGICAL EFFECTS BASED TESTS - 1247 - Burnaby Campus

The following Sessional appointment is expected to be available in the Department of Biological Sciences during the FALL SEMESTER ((August 26 to December 20, 2024).

BISC 651 TOXICITY TESTS I: ECOLOGICAL EFFECTS BASED TESTS
SALARY  $6810.00 (inclusive of 4% vacation pay)  
Lectures 3hr/wk (1/2 semester, time TBD)
Labs 4hr/wk (1/2 semester, time TBD)

RESERVE SESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR POSITION: No
Article XIV E.3.a of the TSSU-SFU Collective Agreement allows for up to 25% of appointments within a given department to be reserved for graduate students or postdoctoral fellows. “While priority will be given to Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows in awarding this RESERVED position, all Sessional Instructors are encouraged to apply. In the event it is not filled by a Grad or Postdoc, it will be filled by another qualified applicant in accordance with Article XIV E of the Collective Agreement.”

Course Description: This course provides the basic concepts and practical experience for the application of ecologically-based toxicity tests.

In addition to lectures, responsibilities include preparing and delivering labs.

Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree in toxicology or related discipline, with a broad training in toxicology. Expertise in toxicity tests, with relevant courses and teaching experience in this area of study.

Recommended Qualifications: Master of environmental toxicology (MET) or MSc in a related discipline. Expertise in toxicity tests, industry experience in toxicology and a minimum of 4 months teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
