Honouring Homeland and Her Beings: Weaving Conference 2009
Jessica Casey is an accomplished cedar bark weaver and instructor.
She spent many childhood hours with her grand mother in the woods,
one of her favorite places to be, surrounded by cedar trees and silence. Jessica harvests her own materials, red and yellow cedar bark, cherry bark, grasses, roots and bulrush. She also makes her own dyes using traditional methods. Jessica weaves baskets, hats, purses, and cedar bark clothing. She weaves wool on the Salish loom, but cedar is her passion. Though born and raised in Edgemont, BC she currently resides in Sechelt, BC with her four babies and her husband Rob.
