Our Domain: Sports and Athletics
Using our domain, the team researched different audiences we could cater to with our app. Using IDEO Methods such as User Interviews, Flow Analysis, and traditional research (eg. books, internet etc.) we found most value and opportunity from our 4th idea, a sport pairing app.

Designing for the unmet need
We designed and prototyped the experience we wanted to create; a trustable environment for users while reducing their their workload. We challenged ourselves to use new design methods and visuals outside of our comfort zone.

Through feedback we found users' actual need
From user feedback, we found that the original prototype lacked visual clarity and had unnecessarily complex features. There was too much emphasis on court booking and not enough interactivity. Users were not able to easily achieve their main goal of connecting with others to meet up and play a game of racquet sports.

Focusing on three major features
Using all the feedback, we refined our features to focus more on the connections between people, rather than be sidetracked by the courts booking system. We introduced Game Cards to increase interactivity for users and to adjust the user flow thus creating a more positive experience.

Branding guide

Enhance the brand to improve connection
We also felt that rebranding was necessary to better connect with our audience. With multiple colours we were able to more clearly represent the four sports within our application. The white background provides a clean canvas and a friendlier tone.
