This 10-minute play was commissioned by Zee Zee Theatre as part of NYET Again: A Cabaret of Canadians Concerned about Chechnya, an event that took place at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre on May 8, 2017 to raise awareness about state-sanctioned anti-gay campaigns in Chechnya, and to raise funds to support gay Chechynian refugees.
The evening was hosted by Zee Zee's Isolde N. Barron and Peach Cobblah and featured new work by myself, Bronwyn Carradine, Dave Deveau, C.E. Gatchalian, Sky Gilbert, Nicola Harwood, Allan Morgan, and Deborah Williams.
Synopsis: “On Wannsee Beach outside Berlin in 1926, during the false calm between two world wars, a young Englishman frustrated by the roving eye of his male lover is counseled in affairs of the heart by an eccentric German woman, who sees all through the lenses of her lorgnette.” (Director: Cameron Mackenzie; with Josh Chambers, Nathan Kay and Linda Quibell)
