IKEA is renowned for its engaging showroom experience. However, its online store pales in comparison as it is difficult for shoppers to get a feel of the furniture items for themselves. This has resulted in IKEA falling behind other furniture retailers in online sales
IKEA Stay is a blend between a physical and digital showroom that allows people who are moving to a new city to visualize the way their homes could look and get a further understanding of what products work for them.
After users enter their airbnb home, they will be greeted with a tablet with the IKEA Stay app. They are then welcomed to try out furniture items at their own leisure and bookmark items they enjoy on the tablet.
When users finish their airbnb experience, they have the ability to access all the items they bookmarked on the IkeaxAirbnb website. This way, they can finalize the items they like before they make their purchase.
IKEA Stay can be expanded to address the entirety of the furniture industry. Our idea can not only translate to IKEA furniture, but to other furniture or home stores as well. Collaborations could be built amongst airbnb and multiple companies.
