Learn more about Take Our Kids to Work Day on November 2, 2022
Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKTWD) is coming up on November 2, 2022. This year’s events and activities for Grade 9 youth include a Faculty of Science Biology session, Faculty of Applied Sciences Computer Science activity and a Faculty of Environment Archaeology presentation.
As part of this year’s exciting event, Phoebe Gross, SFU’s Science in Action team member, will be leading the ‘Spectacular Salmon Life Cycle’ - the Science Biology session this year. “Through hands-on experiments, engaging discussions and short lectures, students will learn all about Pacific Salmon biology,” says Cynthia Henson, Manager of Outreach and Engagement. “Students will be asked to think critically about the salmon life cycle and learn how to use laboratory equipment to identify what salmon eat,” adds Henson. This activity allows youth to learn more about marine biology and science experiments as well as get to know more about SFU’s Science Biology program.
If this sounds like it would be interesting to your Grade 9 youth, please sign them up for the event. Spaces are limited, so remember to register today.
