Application information

The scholarship program supports 10 exceptional students per year to study at SFU who may not otherwise be able to afford a university education. The program welcomes applications from candidates who identify as Indigenous, are Black or a person of colour, are living with a disability or are a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The Uggla Family Scholarship is open to all Canadian/Domestic students who show leadership potential, and is designed to significantly reduce financial and other barriers to participation in post-secondary education. 

10 students will be admitted to SFU through the Uggla Family Scholarship each year, in perpetuity. New cohorts begin their journey in the program every fall term.

Scholars will be required to:

• participate, progress and complete their academic programs
• take part in customized academic and co-curricular initiatives
• engage in events and activities designed to recognize the program and foster lifelong connections
