SFU EDI
The Uggla Family Scholarship is truly transformational for SFU, helping us to ensure that more bright minds receive enhanced support and education, provide improved opportunities for diverse communities, and advance equality throughout society.
Creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where all feel welcome, safe, accepted and appreciated in learning, teaching, research and work is a key priority for SFU.
We are privileged to do this work on the unceded, traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), Səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Katzie, and other Coast Salish peoples.

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
As an alumnus of SFU as well as the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Lance Uggla with his family have created the Uggla Scholarship at both institutions to empower inclusive leadership and create an international cohort of scholars.
LSE is an internationally renowned university specializing in the social sciences. Its expertise spans a wide range of disciplines from economics, politics and law, to sociology, health policy, accounting and finance.
As one of the most international universities in the world, the school’s diversity of people, ideas and interests make it an exciting centre for research, teaching and public engagement.
Established in 1895, the original vision of LSE as ‘a community of people and ideas, founded to know the causes of things, for the betterment of society’ remains true to this day. It continues to use its research-led expertise to influence governments, NGOs, businesses and others to help tackle the world’s most pressing problems. For more information visit lse.ac.uk
