NOTE: In general an "alternate" member is invited to attend meetings when a regular member is not available. Please confirm the role of the alternate member on this committee with the committee secretary.
Meetings:
Normally at least once in each term; October, February and April, May (with other sub-committee meetings as required).
Quorum:
Quorm is set at six (6) Committee members.
Responsibilities:
- To adjudicate all Undergraduate private and University awards.
- To recommend to the Policy Committee changes or additions to the Award programs.
- To interview students in order to prepare recommendations where required for external agencies.
- To confer with scholarship students.
- To present scholarships at Secondary School convocations, where appropriate.
Note: In the event no lay member of Senate is available to serve, Senate may elect a general member of the community to serve in that position.
Responsibilities of the Registrar and Senior Director, Student Enrollment (or designate):
- Secretary and active in policy development.
- To administer the programs and budgets and to provide support services as required.
Vice-Chair:
The Vice-Chair shall be elected annually by and from the members of the Committee.
