The
4th Annual Rethinking Teaching: A Course Design Workshop for Professors
4 full days: Friday, April 21, AND Monday - Wednesday, April 24-26,
2006
Are you developing a new course or would you like to revise one
of your current courses? This four-day workshop is designed
to support you in the development of
your course. By the end of the workshop, you will have a draft
course syllabus and a plan for implementing new teaching strategies
that you want to explore. The workshop has been developed in collaboration
with faculty members from McGill University, where it has been
offered for over 10 years.
During this workshop, you will:
- Explore an approach to course design consistent with your subject
matter understanding.
- Work
in small multi-disciplinary groups and benefit from peer feedback
and self-evaluation as you prepare your course design.
- Experience and
examine various teaching strategies including those enabled
by technology.
We welcome faculty members who are developing "W",
"Q", or "B" courses in support of our new Undergraduate
Curriculum Initiative. The Task Force (UCITF) has offered
to reimburse workshop fees for faculty developing these
courses while taking part in this workshop.
