Dana Kluchinski
Master of Resource and Environmental
Management (Planning) Candidate, SFU
I am from Philadelphia, PA, the ancestral homelands of the Lenni-Lenape People. I studied Environmental Studies and Biology at Ursinus College and worked for the Bioko Biodiversity Protection Program in Equatorial Guinea, and later as an environmental educator in Philadelphia. My previous work has relied on community education and involvement in forms of citizen science and volunteer work. For the past two years, I have worked in Ecological Restoration in the Metro-Vancouver area.
For my Master of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University, I will build upon XLAP research, and will focus on Indigenous land-use planning and conservation as a means for protecting Indigenous cultural heritage. I am honored to be working as a part of the XLAP team and hope my research can serve as a helpful steppingstone for the project and for heritage conservation. As a settler fortunate to work on this project, I am humbled and grateful to learn from our Indigenous partners and collaborate in meaningful ways.
