I am a PhD Candidate in the History, Quantitative, and Theoretical Psychology program at Simon Fraser University. My research alternates between applied psychometric projects, metascientific work exploring conceptual and practical issues in research methodology, and philosophical work related to quantification and measurement issues in psychological science. My dissertation (in progress), explores how researchers construct short form versions of published measurement instruments from several perspectives: (a) actual research and reporting practices; (b) reviewing the methodologies - or lack thereof - inherent to the process; and (c) reviewing and evaluating the statistical techniques used to do so. My other interests include data science and visualization, primarily via R statistical programming. Finally, I’m a passionate instructor of both introductory and intermediate statistics courses at both Simon Fraser University and the University of the Fraser Valley.
