Provide your input: SFU’s next vice-president, finance and administration
Hello everyone,
As you may be aware, Martin Pochurko is retiring from his role as vice-president, finance and administration (VPFA) in February 2025. SFU has begun a search for a new vice-president, finance and administration.
About the position and portfolio
The vice-president, finance and administration is the university’s chief administrative officer. Reporting to the President and serving as a key member of the executive team, the VPFA employs a collegial, collaborative style of decision making over financial and non-academic administrative services in strong support of the academic mission of the University. The VPFA directs day-to-day aspects of university operations through direct reports and staff across diverse departments such as Finance, Facilities and Campus Planning, IT Services, Info Security, Safety and Risk Services and Campus Services.
About the search process
A Search Committee is currently being established, as per University Policy GP29, and will undertake a process to select SFU’s new vice-president, finance and administration. Executive search firm PFM Executive Search has been retained to support this important process. Once the committee is confirmed, details will be posted to the search website.
We are currently undertaking a robust consultation to gather feedback into the candidate profile. And because no one knows SFU as well as you—our students, faculty and staff—you are invited to participate in this important process. We want to hear what experience, leadership and personal qualities you feel are important in selecting the next vice-president, finance and administration. Your input will help shape the candidate profile, a document that will be used in the recruitment and evaluation of candidates.
