Search for Vice-President, Finance and Administration
After nearly 14 years of dedicated service to the university, Martin Pochurko is retiring from his role as Vice-President, Finance and Administration (VPFA) as of February 7, 2025. In accordance with the procedures set out in policy GP29, Search Committees for Vice-Presidents and Associate Vice-Presidents, a search committee will be established to select SFU’s next Vice-President, Finance and Administration.
The Vice-President, Finance and Administration is the university’s chief administrative officer. Reporting to the President and serving as a key member of the executive team, the VPFA employs a collegial, collaborative style of decision making over financial and non-academic administrative services in strong support of the academic mission of the University. The VPFA directs day-to-day aspects of university operations through direct reports and staff across diverse departments such as Finance, Facilities and Campus Planning, IT Services, Info Security, Safety and Risk Services, and Campus Services.
This search process, led by PFM Executive Search, is expected to continue through January 2025 and includes opportunities for community input and consultation. More information will be shared to this webpage as it becomes available. Please reach out to vp_search@sfu.ca with any questions.
