Welcome Back, Dr. Kennedy Stewart

We are excited to have Dr. Kennedy Stewart, one of our longest-serving professors, back in the School of public policy after a leave of absence starting in 2011, during which he served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Burnaby-Douglas (2011-2015), Member of Parliament for Burnaby South (2015-2018), and Mayor of Vancouver (2018-2022). Dr. Stewart returns to teach in the Master of Public Policy program and the new undergraduate minor program, launching in the Fall of 2023.

Aside from his return to our school, Dr. Stewart has also been appointed as the new Director of SFU’s Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR). The Centre for Public Policy Researchprovides solutions to complex policy problems by advancing peer-reviewed public policy research produced by outstanding Simon Fraser University scholars, and promotes dialogue by hosting discussions with decision-makers and practitioners.

We are thrilled to work along side Dr. Stewart and very much look forward to all that we can accomplish together.
