Prof. Simmons Speaks at IYQ 2025 Opening Ceremony
SFU Physics Professor Stephanie Simmons speaks at UNESCO's International Year of Quantum Science and Technology Opening Ceremony taking place February 4th, 2025 in Paris.
The opening session invites leaders and experts to highlight the global importance of fostering innovation and international collaboration. Stephanie was part of a roundtable discussion titled "Pushing the Frontiers of Quantum Science and Technology", joining as the Founder & Chief Quantum Officer at Photonic and Co-Chair of Canada's National Quantum Advisory Council.
The United Nations proclaimed 2025 as the "International Year of Quantum Science and Technology" (IYQ), starting off the year-long worldwide initiative with the goal to increase public awareness of the importance of quantum science and applications through activities at all levels.
