Joanna Woo Receives FASS Interdisciplinary Grant

Joanna Woo was part of a team that received the FASS Breaking Barriers Interdisciplinary Incentive Grant for their project titled "Star Lore of Coastal First Peoples: Navigating the Waters with the Sky."

The project will be headed by Eldon Yellowhorn (Indigenous Studies), with Joanna Woo (Physics) and Marianne Ignace (Indigenous Studies and Linguistics) being collaborators.  

Breaking Barriers is a new FASS grants programme launched to encourage interdisciplinary scholarship.  Teams are asked to propose research that aim to deepen understanding of the world's most pressing issues or create solutions to address them.
